Registration is complete and sessions have begun for our third year of Family Faith Formation, our model of religious education of children (and adults) in St. Joseph Catholic Community.
The theme for 2024 is Catholic Social Teaching. Each month, families will be introduced to a different aspect of the teaching, which ranges from the dignity and respect for all human beings, to care for God’s creation, to respect for work and workers, to the preferential option for the poor.
We began this model in 2022 with a year focused on prayer. Last year the focus was on the sacraments.
Participants in Family Faith Formation meet once a month, throughout the year, for approximately two hours. There is a plenary session for all families, then breakout groups by age, then a culminating moment to celebrate the Eucharist together.
St. Joseph is also participating in «Families Matter,» a new program of RENEW International and the Center for FaithJustice. Interested families can opt for this as their alternative to Family Faith Formation.
We’re grateful to the many members of our Faith Formation team who make all matters, from administrative to catechetical, clear and smooth for our families.
During the year, on occasion some of the presentations will be offered parish-wide. Follow our parish media for the dates and topics of such presentations.
